Most of the time, it is cost prohibitive to challenge a speeding ticket or other minor traffic citation.  It is just cheaper to pay the fine and suffer the insurance consequences than to pay a lawyer to fight the charge in court.  However, in the case of DUI and other more serious traffic related offenses, hiring a competent attorney may be necessary.
